But probably the only time in history someone called for that particular song to be played, and probably only happened because the album was just released and the guy had been listening to it. I think it was probably a promotional thing for the album, yes, though there's nothing in the paper trail to that effect (except perhaps that there is a paper trail ...).Fate Musichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05648291938690043423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5493557313410969282.post-29522222237253129192011-04-04T08:57:57.301-07:002011-04-04T08:57:57.301-07:00Of course, I am so narrowly focused on live perfor...Of course, I am so narrowly focused on live performance that I forget that Garcia/Saunders had released the "Live At Keystone" album in late 1973, so New York fans at least knew something about the band. Also, the Garcia solo album on Round (aka "Compliments Of Garcia") had just been released in June of '74, so there may have been a promotional aspect to this booking.Corry342https://www.blogger.com/profile/08049035074121231425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5493557313410969282.post-71103914388741259342011-04-04T07:36:27.947-07:002011-04-04T07:36:27.947-07:00Great, thanks for laying down the marker. Lots of interesting weirdness around these shows, anyway, which I sometimes mistake for importance. ;-)Fate Musichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05648291938690043423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5493557313410969282.post-20814392036740205102011-04-03T19:42:55.581-07:002011-04-03T19:42:55.581-07:00It was only when I came across the Maria Muldaur d...It was only when I came across the Maria Muldaur dates that some of the pieces of the puzzle started to fall into place. Scher had a decades long professional relationship with the Garcia Band as well as the Dead, and this would have been yet another early connection between Scher and Kahn.Corry342https://www.blogger.com/profile/08049035074121231425noreply@blogger.com
